The driver story on Linux is better than it was. The living room is still a TV problem. HDR metadata, CEC, and a dock that converts USB4 to HDMI will fail in ways the GPU vendor cannot patch.

Set the TV input to the PC’s port. Turn off auto game mode hopping if it drops to 30 Hz. Use a direct HDMI cable from the dock that lists 4K120 if that is what you bought.

The GPU update is real. The cable is still the thing you check first.
